HTC U11 Review
There are lots of smartphones that have been launched in the market in 2017. But of all the phones that have already been launched, HTC U11 has caught a special glare from the experts as well as tech lovers.
HTC is not a new name to this industry; it is one of the major smartphone brands that exist today in the market. A few months ago when HTC launched the HTC U Ultra; we knew that a better smartphone is one the way from the brand. And then they released HTC U11. So, if you are looking to buy a new phone and you are not sure about what to buy then you must check our HTC U11 review before you make your buying decision.
HTC has created a new benchmark for the smartphone industry. The company has created a smartphone with squeezable edges which are sensitive to the touch of the user. It has created a whole new way for you to interact with your phone. The idea of interacting with your phone without even having to touch the screen will give most of the other flagships a run for their money. With a price of RS 51,990 and an edge sense squeezable feature, HTC U11 is here to rule the market.
Design and Build-UP:
The design of HTC smartphones has always been the major attraction for the buyers. Since the launch of their highly popular device HTC One, the brand set the trend of using full metal aluminium body for their phones. However, U11 does not follow that clichéd design. It rather has a unique build up which will surely appeal to the masses.
Yes! With U11, HTC has replaced the full metal aluminium build up for a full body glass design. The entire hind-side of the phone has been designed with a liquid glass technology. The mirror like liquid glass surface of HTC U11 captures light in all directions and different angles.
The backside of the phone is really like a pool of water trapped inside different coloured layers of glass. It does not only serenade your eyes but it also increases the aesthetics of the phone. Sapphire blue, Solar Red, Ice White, Amazing silver and Brilliant black are few colour combinations in which this handset is available.
And the best part of the design of HTC U11 is that if you look at the phone from different angles then you will see a different colour every time.
From the front side, the phone does not look much different rather it is the general design of HTC. But with this smartphone, the company has shed the secondary screen which was present in the predecessors of U11.
However, most of the experts believe that the absence of the secondary screen has actually made U11 much more efficient for use since the size has reduced a bit along with the bulkiness of the smartphone. U11 has a standard 5.5inch screen with 16:9 aspect ratios. This newly launched smartphone also sports a fingerprint sensing home button at the button.
The fingerprint sensor of U11 is very fast and efficient as it unlocks your phone within a fraction of seconds without any delay. Moreover, the 3D glass curves going towards the central frame are there which helps the phone to sit comfortably in your hands. The design of U11 is really astonishing and it adds a very good reason on board to check it out.
HTC U11 Edge Sense:
The Edge Sense technology that has been used in this phone is its most unique feature. Give your phone a good squeeze and you will be able to do all kinds of actions like taking a selfie and launching an app. Moreover, you will also be able to launch the Google Assistant without having to shout at Google. You will also be able to use the feature even if you are wearing gloves.
But the most fun thing about this feature is that you will be able to customise the squeezes to get different works done. A long squeeze or a soft squeeze, the edge sense technology will be able to understand what you want. HTC has also promised to release an app which will help you further to customise your squeezes.
Specifications and Software:
Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor is the most crucial piece of hardware that U11 uses which has enhanced the functionalities of the phone greatly. Apart from the Snapdragon 835 processor, HTC U11 also uses an Adreno 540; 6GB RAM and a 128GB storage which ensure that your phone works without any glitches. The storage space can further be enhanced by using a microSD card.
HTC U11 comes with a 5.5 full HD display with a resolution of 1440×2560 pixels. Also, this newly launched smartphone uses a 3000mAh battery to power its processes. You will get from U11 all kinds of connectivity options like Wi-Fi 802.11ac with dual bandwidth, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS along with GLONGLASS, NFC and VoLTE 4G connection.
It also comes with a USB Type-C port which offers file transfer at a rate of 5GBPS. Lastly, it has two slots for nano SIMs out of which the second slot can be used to insert a microSD card. The device runs on the latest Android 7.1 platform along with HTC sense skin UI.
HTC U11 has a 12MP camera on its back and a 16MP front camera. Though most of the flagships have gone for a dual camera in the back; HTC U11 has chosen to stick with only one. Even though there is no dual focus and fancy features, the 12MP lens with f/1.7 aperture will give you the best shots. And the 16MP front camera has set a benchmark in the industry. You will not be able to click magnificent selfies but you will also be able to record videos at 4K resolution in normal mode.
HTC U11 is clearly highly efficient and has much more improved functionalities when compared to its predecessor HTC U Ultra. So, if you are looking for a great smartphone with Rs 50,000-55,000 price range then you must go for the HTC U11.
